Riverside faculty and staff would like to recognize Mrs. LUCIA Perez, Board Member, for being the Volunteer of the Year at Kings Ridge Preparatory Academy. LUCIA and her minister husband have been integral in updating our school library and game room for the students. We commend her continued hard work and dedication. Dear Kings Ridge Preparatory Family and Visitors,

It is my pleasure to inform you that KRPA is a "Performing Plus" school! KRPA is a "Race to the Top" school, which means we have all highly qualified and certified staff, and we use the core curriculum aligned to the national standards as a basis for instruction. All students take Galileo diagnostic student assessments and benchmarks four times per year. KRPA evaluates teachers and administration with the R2 walk through protocol for effective instruction and accountability.

KRPA offers its students physical education, art, and a championship sports program; in addition, every student receives free breakfast and, for qualified applicants, free or reduced lunch. This year we are offering laptops to every student to use in the classroom with a signed agreement by student and parent/guardian. We also have a student computer lab and advanced technology in every classroom.

Also coming to Riverside Elementary School District: Parent VUE.

To create a stronger parent-school partnership and to help parents monitor their child’s education in all schools, the Riverside Elementary School District will be providing timely student information through a tool called Parent VUE. As a parent or guardian of a Riverside Elementary School student, you will have the ability to view grades, attendance information, and other data that the district has maintained in regards to your student. Your child’s academic information will be web-based and you can access it from your personal computer.

When we fully implement Parent VUE, parents will be able to monitor their child’s grades, class assignments, student schedule, attendance, and school information. Teachers and parents may also send messages to each other via Parent VUE.

To maintain the confidentiality of student information, we will require parents to obtain an activation key to access their child’s data.  Parents can activate their child’s account by going to the school office to obtain information about setting up their log-on and password. We will require photo identification at the time of receiving your activation key.

We will send home more information as to when Parent VUE will be implemented and when parents can sign up. Please check with your school office for additional information. We hope you find this tool to be helpful in supporting your child’s education.

KRPA is a recipient of the 21st Century grant, which allows KRPA to extend the school day by a full two hours! We have fully aligned the afterschool program with the school's curriculum in the core subject areas.

We offer the American Dream Academy and English language learning classes to all of our parents, and throughout the school year, we invite all parents and children to participate in family engagement activities.
